Southern California Outdoor Adventurers - SCOA

It is simple, we seek adventure in everything we do. Be it mountain biking remote, twisting, single track in the Sierras, hiking little-known trails in the San Gabriel mountains, camping in awe-inspiring locations, or surfing in Santa Monica - we are about the outdoors and adventure. When you are looking for outdoor adventure in Southern California, you know where to click - www.SCOAOutdoors.net

Intermediate to Advanced - Mt. Wilson Trail to Lucky Baldwin

Load up the rig and head to the top of Mount Wilson. Once at the top, we will make our way past the observatory to the Sturtevant Trail or Mt Wilson Trail. Both trails are steep, technical and relentless downhill into Sierra Madre. This is not a beginner's ride but it is not an expert ride either. The key to enjoying this ride is staying in control and using good judgment. Friday's are good because there are fewer people on the trail. Also mountain biking is a perfect way to ring in the weekend! If you have never been to Lucky Baldwins Pub you are in for a treat.

Mammoth Mountain Lights

Ready to play in the snow? Then let's go up and play in the snow at Mammoth! We will drive up early Saturday morning for two days of skiing/boarding and then head back Sunday afternoon. (It's about a 3 3/4 hour drive from my house to Mammoth.) Leaving bright and early at 5:45am from Frank's house should put our feet in the snow by 9:45am. Because of the early start time Saturday Frank STRONGLY suggest that everyone come up and spend the night Friday at his house. It has five bedrooms and three bathrooms so there is plenty of room. Frank will make dinner for everyone who makes it up to his house Friday night.

We know you have busy lives both during the week and on the weekends. Still, you have to make time to play. In that vein, after the large ski crowds have left the mountain for the weekend - lets hit Mountain High for some night skiing/riding. They have flexible ticket prices - go to the web site and find the one that makes the most sense to you. Sign up here so we can carpool. Let us know if you need a ride or have one to offer. Be sure to include how many seats you have.
